What chocolate bars will I receive?

We will choose an assortment of bars for you for your perk, if you ordered bars. Most bars will be dark (2 ingredient), but if you ordered a large quantity of bars we’ll choose as representative a sample as we can (including milk, nuts, etc). If you ONLY want dark (2 ingredient) bars, please email us at [email protected]

When will I receive my items?

We’re on track to deliver perks within the timeframe promised on Indiegogo. Some perks (apparel) may be delivered sooner than promised - we’re trying to get all the non-chocolate items ready before the 2017 winter holiday season.

I did not select any perks, but I meant to. What should I do?

If you meant to choose perks when you made your Indiegogo contribution please email [email protected] and we’ll be sure to send the items that you were hoping to order. If you made your contribution purely as a donation, we really appreciate your support!

I am allergic to nuts.

Our kitchen is NOT nut or dairy free. Even though most of our bars are made with just two ingredients (cacao and cane sugar), some of our bars could have a trace of nut or dairy.

Is chocolate healthy?

YES! That’s why it makes us feel good. :) Seriously though, it has a tiny amount of sugar compared to many other sweet treats that we eat. The fat in chocolate is polyunsaturated fat (aka the good kind). There are over 600 identified flavonoids in cacao - this is double what’s generally found in red wine.

Do you have store hours?

We’re working hard to build up inventory before we set store hours. In the meantime, feel free to reach out via Facebook or email to see if it’s a good time to drop by (chances are we’ll be there). Also check our Facebook page for events that we’re hosting or attending.

How should I store my chocolate?

Chocolate keeps best when it’s kept at 50-70 degrees in non-humid environments. We recommend a food-safe airtight plastic bin for your chocolate collection, if you’re the kind of person who nibbles a little bit over a long period of time. Over time chocolate will absorb the flavors of what is around it (spices, storage materials). Do not keep your chocolate in the freezer or refrigerator, unless you live in a very humid environment (in which case, be sure to wrap it very well in order to protect it from condensation).

What is the shelf life of my chocolate?

Generally speaking, if it looks and smells and tastes okay, it is okay.

The following guidelines are based on my own experience with eating craft chocolate produced by myself and others: Chocolate with added seeds or nuts or fruit should generally be eaten within 3-6 months. Milk chocolate is generally good for 6 months. Dark chocolate can be kept indefinitely, however, it will continue to grow more brittle as time goes by, so we recommend eating it within 6-12 months. Dark chocolate that has become brittle or has white “bloom” is still edible: we recommend melting it with milk or water to make drinking chocolate.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
